At any time, students (and staff) may change their Rundle account password via Self Service. Simply find and click on the item labelled Change Password.
If a student forgets their password and becomes unable to login, you may reset their password using the NIM identity management webapp.
Before you begin
- You know the student's full name or username.
- You're resetting a student's password because they have requested it.
- Ensure the request is legitimate before proceeding (see Security notes below).
Steps
1. Log in to NIM
Go to the NIM portal and sign in using your staff account credentials.
In order to access this page, you must be connected to a Rundle Wi-Fi network or VPN.
2. Find the student
Enter the student's name, student ID, or username in the search field and select the correct entry from the results.
3. Reset password
With the target student selected, click the Reset Password button.
Giving the student their new password
- Share the new password directly and privately - do not write it in a public channel or email.
- Remind the student that they can set a new password if they want using the item in Self Service.
- To view a student's password, find the student and click on
View Password
